Pharmacy & Self-Care
Pharmacy
Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can offer clinical advice, over the counter medicines to effectively and safely manage a range of minor health concerns. They can also help you to decide whether you'll need to see a doctor. You don't need an appointment and you won't even be asked to make a purchase. Every pharmacy also has a private consultation area for you to talk about your symptoms in private if you prefer.

Home Visits
We receive an extremely high demand for home visits and are unable to provide all of these, despite increasing the number of GP’s we have. For each home visit we do, we can see 3 to 4 patients in the surgery. Your assessment in the surgery will be much more thorough than one completed at home since we have all the equipment, we need in the GP practice. We would request that you always attend the surgery where possible.
Home visits are for the terminally ill (dying) or totally housebound patients only. We do not visit children who should always be bought to the surgery.
If you can go out to the shops, to visit family/ friends or to get a haircut, we will not visit you at home. You should request an appointment instead of a home visit.
We do not visit people who do not have transport. We would expect you to come to the surgery.
All home visits should be requested before 10:30am. No visit will automatically be booked by our reception team. All requests will be assessed by a doctor to determine whether it would be more appropriate for you to attend the surgery for a formal appointment, or for us to deal with your problem over the phone.
We cannot guarantee we will be able to visit you if your request comes in after 10:30am. Your request will be assessed by the on-call doctor first
