Rapid Health - FAQ
We understand that accessing healthcare can be challenging and as we are implementing something new, we want to support your appointment experience to be as smooth as possible.
We have listed below some common questions and answers to help you use the new system to book appointments and to deal with any administrative queries. If after reading this, you still have further questions, please get in touch.
What is changing and why?
From 21st January 2025, all our GP and Allied Health Professional appointments are now only bookable online via the Rapid Health system on our website.
We want to improve access for patients to our appointments. We have listened to your feedback and know that the phones have long queues.
We want to improve your experience and help patients get the appointments they need.
Who are Allied Health professionals?
These are specialist colleagues that work within the practice. First Contact Physios, Paramedics, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and Mental Health Practitioners.
How will I book an appointment?
You will need to ensure your email address is on your record and verified. Then by using the link on the appointments page, you will enter your details. The system will then ask you questions about your symptoms and history. It will triage your responses and offer you an appointment to book. If you do not have internet access, we can enter the responses on your behalf over the phone.
What about patients who can't use the internet?
We can complete and submit the forms for anyone who cannot access the internet. This can be at reception or via the phone.
What if I want to see a particular GP or clinician?
When you book, all the available appointments are shown which allows you to select who you see and when.
What if I want to book a nurse appointment?
There is no change to booking nurse appointments. All nurse appointments are bookable via the telephone, or you may be sent a link.
Rapid health is not currently used for booking these appointments.
Who will see my answers?
Your responses are completely confidential and will save into your medical record. They will only be seen by authorised staff at the practice.
Our practices follow strict confidentiality processes to protect your personal and medical information.
I didn’t get an appointment but had a message to say I will get a response in two days. What happens now?
Most patients will be able to book into an appointment of their choice. Some will need further clinical review following completion of the form.
We will respond to your request in two working days if you see this message.
I have more than one problem – what do I do?
Please submit separate requests for each concern – this will ensure the clinician has time to address each of your concerns.
I need a FIT note – how do I request this?
You can use the Questions and admin section to request an extension to a current Fit note – if you need to request one for the first time, you will need to book an appointment through the booking link explaining your symptoms.
